On November 3, 2018 at 8:59 p.m., Springfield Police were dispatched to 2146 N. Oakland after a 911 caller asked police to check the well-being of a female resident there. When officers arrived, they found the female deceased inside the home with an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators are currently working the scene as a homicide.
The victim was identified as Sabrina B. Starr, a 21-year-old female from Springfield. Next-of-kin notifications have been made for the victim.
A suspect has not been identified at this time. Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-TIPS (8477).
