According to the Highway Patrol report, a 1997 Ford Ranger driven by Grant J. Jester, 28, Stotts City, struck a pedestrian, Corey D. Jones, 37, Monett, who was walking in the lane of traffic.
Lawrence County Coroner Scott Lakin pronounced Jones dead at the scene at 10:10 p.m.
The fatality was the 16th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
